Dr. Rajesh Kumar Kainthan is a scientist and product-development leader with more than 20 years of experience in polymer chemistry, biomaterials, pharmaceutical formulation, drug delivery, and translational healthcare innovation. His career spans academic research, big pharma, biotech, and entrepreneurial ventures, where he has helped translate complex scientific concepts into clinically and commercially viable products.
Dr. Kainthan’s expertise includes the design and development of functional polymers, biomaterials, bioconjugates, and advanced drug-delivery systems. At Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, he contributed to the development of siRNA delivery technologies. At Pfizer, his work focused on bioconjugation and targeted therapeutic approaches for glycoconjugate vaccines. At Aquestive Therapeutics, he led formulation and product-development activities for complex transmucosal drug-delivery systems, including Anaphylm™, an epinephrine sublingual film. He has also led multidisciplinary programs encompassing formulation and process development, analytical characterization, manufacturing, CMC strategy, regulatory documentation, and product lifecycle management.
As CEO of AVAX Health, Dr. Kainthan leads the identification, licensing, development, and commercial translation of promising dental and broader healthcare technologies. He collaborates with academic investigators, clinicians, manufacturers, regulatory specialists, and strategic partners to transform scientific innovation into practical solutions addressing important unmet clinical needs.
Dr. Mohammad Ali Saghiri is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where he directs the Biomaterials Research Laboratory and serves as Principal Investigator. His interdisciplinary research encompasses dental biomaterials, endodontics, mineralized tissues, nanotechnology, tissue engineering, artificial intelligence and translational product development. As Scientific Advisor to Avax Health, Dr. Saghiri provides scientific and clinical guidance on the evaluation and development of innovative dental technologies, including materials designed to improve the structural integrity and performance of treated teeth.
